TAPSTAR.EC
More Google Places reviews on a custom platform
tapstar.ec sells CR80-format NFC cards (credit-card size) carrying Google’s review branding: customers tap their phone, the Google Places review form opens directly, and they leave a rating in seconds. No batteries, no power, no app to install. We designed the product end-to-end — from the card to the backend to the ecommerce any business buys it from — and we operate it alongside the team.
The challenge
Asking for reviews by hand doesn’t scale and printed QR codes get ignored. Moving a Google Places rating takes real, consistent volume — which only happens with a reliable medium, zero install friction, a multi-store platform and a setup any business can deploy the same day without a technician on site.
What we did
- CR80-format NFC card — credit-card size, passive (no batteries, no power, no maintenance), with branding aligned to Google’s official guidelines for soliciting reviews.
- Design with quality control and onboarding baked in before manufacturing: every decision — material, finish, encoding, packaging, first tap — drives a premium end-to-end experience.
- Multi-store web platform: every card is assigned, configured and measured from one central panel.
- Sub-minute activation: the merchant gets the card, scans it with the phone and configures the store — no app, no technician, ready to receive reviews the same day.
- Per-branch metrics: tap-to-review rate, cumulative rating and negative-review alerts for timely response.
- Direct ecommerce at tapstar.ec — businesses buy the card, receive it and activate it, with no consultative sales cycle.
Results
- Active stores multiply monthly Google Places reviews 7×.
- Average Google rating climbs +0.6★ within the first three months.
- Reputation stopped being anecdotal: every branch has its own dashboard and baseline.
